River otters are about the size of a large dog, with thick fur that is brown or black on the back and lighter on the belly. They have long, slender bodies and webbed feet that help them swim. River otters are carnivores and eat fish, frogs, crayfish, and other small animals.

But what makes river otters so special is their playful nature. They love to swim, dive, and play in the water. They have been known to slide down slippery banks, play with sticks and rocks, and even chase each other around. River otters are also very social animals and live in groups of up to 12 individuals.
